ROCKDALE'S ROCKIN' SALE

Speaking of MOBs, Ackerman & Co. has sold Rockdale Medical Plaza to a major national REIT. Senior Housing Properties Trust (NYSE: SNH) purchased the 40K SF  building for an undisclosed sum, sources tell BisnowJohn Willig, a principal with Ackerman Medical—a division of Ackerman & Co.—and CBRE's Justin Parsonnet and Lee Asher, who were listing the property, declined to comment for the story. Rockdale Medical, at 1501 Milstead Rd., was part of Ackerman's larger MOB program, in which physician groups co-invested in the projects and reaped the benefit once they sold. Among the tenants in the property include Georgia Cancer Specialists, Georgia Urology, and Georgia Pediatric Cardiology. According to Databank, Ackerman had recently garnered a  $6.6M loan extension until May of 2013 with SunTrust on the property.
