| Houston-based Orion Real Estate Services last month tapped this man, former Lane Co business development director Brian Willey, to head up the multifamily owner/manager's expansion into both Atlanta and the East Coast. Orion is one of Texas' biggest third-party apartment management companies, and Brian says the owners see real opportunity to push eastward given so many new apartment owners. The company has no presence in Georgia so far (so, you know Brian has his work cut out for him). Orion is especially big in affordable housing, where 58% of its managed portfolio is geared toward low- to moderate-income families. | ||
| Brian also says Orion is getting back into the development cycle. There's nothing specific being targeted for Atlanta as of yet, Brian says. But the company is developing two new ones in Texas and one in Denver, a 332-unit high-end apartment community. | ||
