MailChimp Eyes Ponce City Market

The company behind a lot of the newsletters you receive (no, not us) could be the next major lease at Ponce City Market.

We're told that Jamestown Properties is in talks with MailChimp, an email marketer and division of The Rocket Science Group (more reliable than carrier pigeons), to possibly move from its 512 Means St location and into more than 30k SF of space at the Midtown redevelopment. This is  on the heels of yesterday's announcement that Cardlytics  inked 70k SF at Ponce City Market (a deal we were first to report here), and part of an overall leasing momentum that saw Athenahealth take 60k SF as well.We spoke with Vantage Realty Partners' Gene Rice, who repped Cardlytics. He says the fast-growing tech company liked Ponce City Market because "Geographically, it was right where they wanted to be." Especially for recruitment, "being able to offer that cool of a space and that environment, it definitely  offers some sex appeal."
