Greenstone Hits Homer at Stadium Project

Score one for Greenstone, which just inked Medac to a 60k SF build-to-suit at the Augusta GreenJackets Stadium mixed-use project.

The new office building is just across the street from Greenstone's 30-acre The Ballpark at Hammonds Ferry along the Augusta River, the massive project that will include a stadium for the GreenJackets, a minor league baseball affiliate of the San Francisco Giants. (Though the way the Giants are playing, they may never have to call any of these fellas up.) Other developments will include a 175-room hotel, 50k SF of retail, 270 apartment units, riverfront homes, and two parking decks.

This is a welcome success for Greenstone, which has been hit with some setbacks as of late. The City of Johns Creek just rejected plans by Greenstone and Brand Properties for a mixed-use residential project next to the Atlanta Athletic Club. And the firm has hit resistance on getting tax incentives to develop its Encore office park near the new Braves stadium project in Cumberland/Galleria. (If you hit one out of every three in baseball, you're a hall of famer.) Medac is a software and management company targeting the healthcare industry and was repped by JLL's Brannan Moss. Its planned office HQ will be a short walk from a bulk of the stadium district.
