Former Sen. John Edwards spoke of the Two Americas that divided rich and poor. Lately he's not saying much of anything, but a group of civic and economic leaders (including Colliers? Caldwell Zimmerman) are now talking about the two Georgias. This Wednesday, Aug. 25, leaders from around the state will gather in Macon to discuss issues such as water equity, transportation, and education. Former Atlanta City Council candidate and event point person Amir Farokhi asks: "Is Georgia going to have a plan for economic development, for transportation, for water, for the basics that determine if visitors want to come here and if people want to live here?" Amir added that Georgia is competing with North Carolina, Virginia, and Florida, which have already created a vision for the next 20 years. 150 people have already registered, but there's room for 100 more.
