CLASS-A? TRY CLASS-ZZZ

One of Atlanta's premier restaurant brokers will help the metro area catch a few  zzz's. The Shumacher Group's  Harold Shumacher  is repping a new high-end mattress store  with plans to enter Atlanta with three stores initially and 2,500 stores across the US in 10 years.
 
Called Zzz?s By Ashley (a new division of Ashley Furniture), the store will be more of a day spa than a typical mattress store. Harold gave us the details at yesterday's ICSC Southeast Conference at the Cobb Galleria. He just got the assignment this week and hasn?t even scouted locations yet, but he tells us the company is seeking high-density areas with average incomes of $75k/year.
 
So, what will greet a shopper? Think of a serene lobby with spa amenities like skin lotions, Harold says. And shoppers are also given slippers so they can lie on the mattresses to test them out. Harold says the company is targeting Atlanta, LA, Phoenix  and Chicago for its initial rollout.
