BUCKHEAD APTS START THIS FALL

Two apartment buildings should start towering over the Buckhead Village beginning by  September.
 
We chatted up OliverMcMillan's Hunter Richardson at his booth at ICSC RECon in Las Vegas  yesterday. He explained what was going on with the Buckhead project using a cool scale model. Somehow, we resisted playing with the toy cars lining Peachtree Road.) The two apartment towers, totaling  over 300 units, will begin construction late this summer with an expected 2013 delivery. And OliverMcMillan expects to begin work on the more than 300k SF of retail by this fall in two phases.
 
We also found Hunter at the Hartman Simons party Sunday night at the House of Blues at Mandalay Bay (with Brower, Miller & Cole's Judith Brower Fancher). He was very mum on the retailers. When asked if the firm had signed leases for the Buckhead project, he answered with a cryptic smile, ?Yes."
