Behind the Scenes Look at Sweet Incentives

Athenahealth released details of its 75k SF lease with Jamestown Properties at Ponce City Market. How's this for incentives: $70/SF in TI; a shuttle that circulates every 15 minutes from the office to North Avenue MARTA station; f ree bicycle parking and shower facilities. (The latter helps combat the smell from the former.);a ccess for employees' young'uns to an onsite The Suzuki Learning Center. And $1.2M to offset its current lease obligations. The company announced its plan earlier this year to  move its 500 employees to the Midtown redevelopment from 2550 Northwinds Pkwy in Alpharetta. According to SEC filings, Jamestown is giving Athenahealth the  first year's rent free, with the next year's rent starting at more than $2M. By the end of its 11-year term, Athenahealth will be paying some $35/SF in rent.
