The flight of people out of the metro area in search of jobs, particularly in the construction industry during the recession. It even hurt Targets sales in Atlanta. Construction workers were leaving by the droves. And it impacted business. The good news overall? Whereas last year retailers were guarded," now with the election over, retailers are much happier and more excited about the future and trying to figure out how theyre going to grow the business.
