Tesla To Open 40k SF Dealership At LIVWRK's Building In Red Hook

Elon Musk’s Tesla Motors has signed a deal for 40k SF for a new office and showroom at a LIVWRK site in Red Hook.

The dealership will be located at the roughly 100k SF 160 Van Brunt St facility, The Real Deal reports, which Asher Abehsera's LIVWRK purchased for $21.5M in 2014 from ship repair firm Golten Marine.

Asking rent was $45 per SF, and while the length of the lease was not immediately clear, TRD notes that Tesla usually opts for 10- to 15-year deals.

It wasn’t immediately clear who the brokers involved were.

The new dealership will be a rather mundane addition to Musk's extensive real estate portfolio, after the entrepreneur made a number of high-profile deals in recent years for state-of-the-art facilities to drive growth at Tesla, Solar City and SpaceX.  [TRD]
