Are all concessions created equal? Leasing experts tackled this question last night at a REBNY Commercial Crossfire event at 570 Lexington’s Mendik Center. Here are CBRE’s Peter Turchin, Boston Properties’ Robert Selsam, FirstService Williams’ Marty Meyer, Tishman Speyer’s Ted Koltis, The Kaufman Org.’s Steven Kaufman, SL Green’s Steve Durels, Adams & Co.’s Jim Buslik, ID Real Estate Partners Ira Fishman, and The Vortex Group’s Rick Marek. The takeaway: there haven’t been many concessions in Midtown, Midtown South, and Downtown because the areas are still desirable (and not experiencing much foreclosure and debt), but owners are willing to do more work on their properties.
