Last night at the CREW National Convention in Seattle!

National Other

Last night, Bisnow was on the ground as 1,000 attendees from 72 chapters across the country joined CREW Network at the Hyatt Regency Bellevue to kick off the org's 2015 Convention and Marketplace, which is being held Sept. 30 through Oct. 3 in Seattle. The attendees noshed on sushi, grilled cheese, and cannolis while networking with fellow CREW members and sponsors; the evening capped off a packed afternoon in which members got a city insider’s tour from CREW Seattle.

Today and tomorrow will be filled with educational plenary sessions focused on hot topics like the re-emergence of mixed-use, the rise of the urban campus, crowdfunding, EB-5 and walkability, peppered with general sessions and keynotes from Morgan Stanley vice chairman Carla Harris, former CNBC chief economist Marci Russell, business strategist Rita McGrath, and former US Secretary of State Madeleine Albright. Members will also attend tours of some of Seattle’s hottest buildings, including The Bullitt Center, the Bertschi School Living Science Building, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation HQ, Microsoft’s corporate campus, Amazon’s South Lake Union campus, and Starbucks’ HQ.

The convention ends Friday night with the CREW Network Foundation Red or White Party, which helps fund the org’s continuing efforts to bring more women into commercial real estate. This year’s celebration is being held inside the Pacific Tower, which was recently transformed from Amazon’s former HQ into a community health and innovation center, only recently opened to the public.

Holly always leaves CREW events more excited about her career. Timothy, a new CREW member, is excited about the enthusiasm at the event, happily noting that these women are not shy.

Kris, an avid Seahawks fan (what you can’t see is the flashy #12 proudly pinned to her blazer), CREW Seattle & Sound member and CREW Network National Foundation chair, worked tirelessly to help put this event together. So what does she get to do now to relax? Play tour guide and show off Seattle’s finest. And maybe even get another Seahawk fan or two out of the deal. Christine, proudly stationed between her two speakers, says CREW is a strategic group that’s all about what’s next and forming connections that elevate women.
