Amazon's Better Off In Seattle: Bezos

Placeholder

Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos asserts Downtown Seattle is the place to be for the retail giant. "We could have saved money, at least in the short term, by building a suburban campus,” he noted at the company’s annual shareholder meeting this week. But he said concentrating Amazon employees in the urban core is greener, and more efficient for the company, the Puget Sound Business Journal reports.

The company has more than 20,000 employees in the city, housed in more than 8M SF. Once all its projects are finished, Amazon will have more than 10M SF in Seattle. The Amazon chief further said the "feeling that comes from interacting with so many people in an urban area is going to lead to a more vibrant product offering from us," reports GeekWire.
