Marriott Planned Near Centennial Park

A development group called Midtown Hotel Investors is planning a limited-service, 156-room Marriott at a corner of Centennial Park, a site one block off West End Avenue. The investors plan to request a necessary variance from Metro next month, according to Roshan Patel, part of the development group. Midtown Hotel Investors is in final talks with a local lender for a construction loan for the project, the Nashville Business Journal reports.

Should Metro approve the variance, work would get underway in the second half of 2017. At 10 floors, the hotel would be two stories shorter than planned when the investor group bought the land in August for $2.5M. One of the distinct features of the site is that many rooms will have a view of the park's replica of the Parthenon. The developers have tapped Nashville architect Kline Swinney Associates to work on the project. [NBJ]
