Salute to Pink’s

Los Angeles Other

At last, two folks who got the memo that Sunday is blue-striped-shirt day. Richard and Gloria Pink (whom we snapped 36 hours ago at the hot new Connie & Ted's restaurant in West Hollywood) will be honored along with Richard’s sister Beverly on April 25 by the Hollywood Arts Council for a first-ever Culinary Arts Award for their 75-year old hot dog stand. It'll be a luncheon for 300 at the Hollywood Roosevelt, with honorees like Mary Poppins composer Richard Sherman. Proceeds support arts programs for underserved kids. Richard remains busy dealmaking for Clarion Partners in S.F., at least in between watching last week's Glee episode (where the cast stopped at Pink's for dogs) and The Today Show, which bragged about having a Pink’s dog named after the show.
