Caruso founder and CEO Rick Caruso is bringing the movies back to Pacific Palisades.

Caruso plans to open a movie theater there for the first time in nearly 40 years since Bay Theatre closed, Curbed Los Angeles reports.

The new Bay Theatre by Cinépolis Luxury Cinemas will offer reclining leather chairs, reserved seating for its five screens and call buttons at each seat for food and bar service.

Caruso is building Palisades Village in downtown Pacific Palisades.

Caruso said the S. Charles Lee-designed Bay Theatre would be part of the project, and he plans to keep some of the old theater's character, namely a similar marquee.

Palisades Village is scheduled to open next summer.
