At just less than 44,000 residents, Burleson still has about 50% of its land mass as extraterritorial jurisdiction.
Burleson EDC manager Alex Philips knows that Burleson has Fort Worth to thank for part of its success. And with 70% of the city’s population driving to another city for work, it would make sense for Burleson to be as sleepy as some of the other southern Fort Worth suburbs.

Tarrant County has broken ground on another way to get to DFW Airport. The 27-mile TEX Rail will use existing freight tracks from downtown Fort Worth, then head northeast to North Richland Hills and Grapevine, and then into the north entrance of the airport. The $1B rail will connect with Trinity Railway Express, AMTRAK, and Fort Worth Transportation Authority's (The T) downtown bus transfer center at the downtown Fort Worth Intermodal Transportation Center and T&P Station.
