Houston TV Star Targets 500 Locations Of New Dispensary
A group of partners, including Washington Ho, star of HBO Max reality show House of Ho, has major expansion plans for its new cannabis dispensary and wellness product shop.
Ho and four partners opened the first location of Pink Flora Co. in a 1,760 SF space at 3311 S. Shepherd Drive in Houston’s Montrose area on April 20, the Houston Business Journal reported.
The partners have a goal of opening 500 stores in the next five years and are already scouting potential locations in The Woodlands, Austin and Dallas.
The store’s offerings include CBD and THC products, but only 30% of the inventory includes smokable products, insulating the store from a potential state ban that is temporarily blocked from taking effect.
Pink Flora Co. also sells pre-workout products, energy drinks, supplements, edibles and vapes.
“We're changing the name for what a dispensary is,” Pink Flora Co. CEO Kazi Ashik said to the HBJ, adding that customers can find products that will “help you with your life and biohacking and longevity.”
The Shepherd Drive building was formerly a Chinese restaurant that closed in 2024. The space now features glass on three sides, evoking the vibes of an Apple Store, and pink sidewalks, chairs, walls, decor and lighting.
Other Pink Flora Co. business partners include Mohammed Chowdhury, the owner of Houston-based smoke shop chain Bahama Mama. Ho became Bahama Mama’s chief innovation officer last year with plans to grow and launch CBD and THC product lines, the HBJ reported.
Ho previously produced a THC seltzer with high-profile Houston attorney Tony Buzbee, but HoBuzz stopped production in spring 2024 after less than a year.
Last year, Ho co-founded WHGP Commercial, a commercial real estate division of his White House Global Properties, with plans to develop an “eater-tainment” district near the Katy Mills mall.
