Overall will oversee Cushman & Wakefield’s advisory business in Houston, where the firm has more than 250 employees, including 60 brokers, and a 34M SF property management portfolio.

The new market leader replaces Clint Bawcom, who last year replaced Kevin Roberts as Transwestern Real Estate Services’ Houston market leader. Roberts transitioned to executive vice president of strategic client relationships.

Overall saw a great opportunity in joining Cushman & Wakefield, a strong brand with a legacy in Houston, he told Bisnow.

“The depth and breadth of the existing talent at our firm allows us to provide unsurpassed, industry-leading client solutions for our occupier and investor clients,” Overall said in a press release. “Houston, Texas and Cushman & Wakefield are all on growth trajectories and I look forward to helping propel Cushman & Wakefield further in Houston by attracting the very best talent in the industry.”

Overall was most recently executive vice president for Brookfield Properties’ Houston office, where he oversaw leasing, operations, property management, legal, accounting, development and construction.

Brookfield Properties Executive Vice President David Sternberg assumed Overall’s responsibilities for the company's Houston office in June, Brookfield told Bisnow by email.

Sternberg oversees operations for Brookfield Properties’ West U.S. region, and his assumption of Houston responsibilities came amid a small staff reduction and restructuring for the firm.

Brookfield last year handed Houston Center, a 4.6M SF office campus, to its mezzanine lender and a Houston-based value preservation team after seven years of ownership. That was one of several big losses over the past three years.

The firm still has an office in Houston and owns assets, including the 3.2M SF, three-building Allen Center office complex in Downtown Houston.

Prior to joining Brookfield in 2017, Overall spent 19 years with Hines. He has been active in Houston CRE for 27 years.

“[Overall’s] industry and community experience and relationships will pay enormous dividends and best position our professionals and clients to focus on opportunities the area’s dynamic economy creates,” Chris Hipps, Cushman & Wakefield executive regional director in Texas, said in the release.

Overall’s new role starts amid a major personnel shuffle at six other Houston brokerages.
