Berkadia hired an eight-person multifamily investment sales team from CBRE, a major coup for the real estate company that's seeking to expand its coverage in Texas and beyond.
The team, led by Ryan Epstein, worked together in CBRE’s capital markets multihousing group. They were among top producers nationally and have sold $4.5B in multifamily assets.
The entire team (including Clint Duncan, Wes Breeding and Jennifer Ray) will report to Berkadia head of investment sales Keith Misner.
Ryan tells us Berkadia approached the team several months ago and the move has been well received by existing clients, whom they'll continue to represent. The advantage of the mass hire is that they immediately have the capacity to hit the ground running with Berkadia. Ryan added that the team welcomes the opportunity to work for a company with such commitment to technology and innovation.
For Keith, the team brings new and vigorous expertise to Berkadia, and he says the acquisition is part of the general expansion of institutional coverage all over the country.
Berkadia is a JV between Warren Buffet’s Berkshire Hathaway and Leucadia National Corp.
