Amazon has acquired an additional 210 acres for its planned air hub near the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport. 

Word of the acquisition came in the form of a tweet by Amazon Senior Vice President of Operations Dave Clark:

About a year ago, the retail giant announced the development of the hub on 900 acres, which will be the company’s largest air hub anywhere. Its presence will also add to the 10,000 employees Amazon has in Kentucky.

Airport officials said the land was not leased from the airport and was not on airport property, the Cincinnati Business Courier reports. The land is probably to the south of land the company already owns near the airport, but it is not clear yet how the company is going to use the extra land. 

Amazon's fleet of Boeing 767 cargo jets based at Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport now totals 32 aircraft.

Amazon leases the Amazon Air fleet (formerly Amazon Prime Air) from Atlas Air Worldwide Holdings Inc. and Air Transport Services Group, in which the retailer has a 10% stake.
