One of the most-anticipated TODs along Milwaukee Avenue is receiving its first tenants. Kenect, a JV between Akara Partners and CA Residential, is expected to fully deliver in September.

The site at the intersection of Halsted Street, Milwaukee Avenue and Grand Avenue was known for years as being home to a series of gray-painted low-rise buildings popular with street artists. The 270k SF Kenect will house 227 apartments, 14k SF of street-level retail and 102 parking spaces. Rents range from $1,745/month for studios to $5,350/month for three-bedroom units. Amenities include a fitness center, a dog run, a fire pit, a yoga room, a co-working lounge, community and party rooms, and a rooftop deck.
