The City of Chicago issued construction permits last week for a $70M mixed-use development at 500 N Milwaukee Ave. Akara Partners is spearheading, with Pappageorge Haymes as the architect. Akara announced the two-building, 270k SF project in January, planning to build 227 apartments, 15k SF of commercial space and 102 parking spots. Located steps from the Grand Avenue Blue Line station, this is an ideal TOD. Akara says they'll have updated renderings in the near future. The building is expected to be delivered next spring.
