Atlanta-based Wood Partners acquired a 2.3-acre parcel at 25th Street and North Brevard in the southern end of the NoDa district of Charlotte. The company plans to break ground on a 261-unit apartment development, which is still to be named. The property will be near the new 25th Street Station of the Blue Line Extension, as well as the Charlotte Greenway trail.

The site is currently a truck yard, and the surrounding area was historically used for cotton and textile mills. That heritage is reflected in the community's design, according to Wood Partners, including programming of the space and the finishes in the amenity areas.

"The overall design of the space will foster the artistry, culture and history of the surrounding community," Wood Partners East regional director Carter Siegel said.

The apartments will feature a courtyard and a saltwater pool, a lounge, a game room and a kitchen area overlooking the Charlotte Greenway. The development is slated for completion in 2019.
