Bisnow Exclusive: JLL Names Baltimore Head

JLL wants a bigger share of Baltimore's market and thus has named Mark Levy to the new position of Baltimore market leader. He joined the company in November and will continue as Mid-Atlantic industrial head. Mark says the firm leads Baltimore in industrial tenant rep and is strong in office tenant rep, healthcare, and multifamily. The plan is to bolster industrial and office agency and capital markets. Hiring will play a part in the growth, he says. JLL's global credibility will help, as Baltimore real estate, historically a local-investor play, is rapidly shifting to an institutional investor market, he says.

Mark's past gigs include Mid-Atlantic market officer at Prologis, SVP at Opus, Manhattan office broker with Cresa and Studley in the '90s, and--wait for it--owner and sole principal of Purple Haze, a party DJ company at alma mater Syracuse University. WKRP in Cincinnati just made it look so glamorous, he says.
