Carter and Georgia State University are now officially in final negotiations to redevelop Turner Field and 70 adjacent acres.
Once sold, the transaction will give Carter and GSU a green light to move forward on a proposed $300M mixed-use project that will include student housing, apartments, retail and a transformation of the former Braves stadium into a football stadium, a project that received public endorsement from Atlanta mayor Kasim Reed, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
The redevelopment is slated for delivery within five years. [AJC]
