CBRE Starts Accepting Turner Field Redevelopment Bids in October

Looks like we'll start to find out by next month some visions for what could become of Turner Field. The Atlanta Fulton County Recreation Authority, which owns the 48,000-seat stadium that's been home to the Atlanta Braves since 1997, tapped CBRE to take bids from developers on redevelopment proposals beginning in October. The Braves, of course, are now building a new stadium in the northern Atlanta suburb of Cobb County. "I don't stand here as an alarmist. I stand here as a realist. Time is of the essence," AFCRA's Keisha Lance Bottoms told a packed house at the stadium's 755 Club earlier this week, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. "This is a 48,000-seat stadium that in 15 months will be empty." [AJC]
