ULI Washington Awards!

Andrew Florance of CoStar, Patrick Phillips of the Urban Land Institute and Kevin Thorpe of Cushman & Wakefield

ULI Washington welcomed over 600 real estate professionals from across the D.C. region to the 20th Annual Real Estate Trends Conference held at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center. The program, which featured local and national speakers such as Andrew Florance of CoStar, Patrick Phillips of the Urban Land Institute and Kevin Thorpe of Cushman & Wakefield, provided a crash course on where the real estate industry is now and where it is headed. The theme for the 2017 conference was “Dynamic Decades: Past and Future.”

The program also featured the Trends Conference awards program, which highlights innovative development underway in the Metropolitan Washington Region. Six projects were recognized for their excellence in a variety of categories, ranging from housing to adaptive reuse. The Impact Award was presented to The Wharf and accepted by Madison Marquette’s Peter Cole and PN Hoffmann’s Matthew Steenhoek and Shawn Seaman, in recognition of the project’s promise and forward thinking, with respect to “the responsible use of land.”

After the conference, attendees were treated to a networking reception where a number of real estate leaders, including Melina Duggal of Duggal Real Estate Advisors, Redfin’s Lucy Frasier, Matt Hopkins of AIMCO and the Urban Land Institute’s Juanita Hardy and Lisa Rother, were spotted mingling with their colleagues.
