HONORS Gala!

Last night, we headed to The Ritz-Carlton for the World Affairs Council's 2017 HONORS: Global Education Gala! We snapped Orbital ATK's Nigel Sutton with consultant Doris Mariani and World Affairs Councils of America president Bill Clifford. 

The World Affairs' HONORS Gala convenes leaders from more than 70 nations and honors five distinguished individuals and organizations that demonstrate exemplary leadership in global education, international affairs and global communications. Here, the State Department's Dan Martinez joins Consuelo Salinas and her husband, the Ambassador of Peru, Carlos Pareja. 

Prior to dinner and program guests enjoyed a lavish VIP reception. Here, Marsh's Patti Steis with Sagamore Spirit's Ed Tracy and his wife, Marymount University trustee Lita Tracy. Marymount University received the Educator of the Year Award. 

During the program's keynote address, guests heard from Dr. Jane Goodall, who also received the Global Ambassador Award. Here, the Embassy of Kosovo's Lendita Haxhitasim with the Colombian Embassy's Daniel Pedraza. 

Other honorees included Blackboard Inc., the Corporation for Public Broadcasting and the Republic of Colombia. Here, Austrian Ambassador Wolfgang Waldner and Angolan Ambassador Agostinho Tavares da Silva Neto with World Affairs Council Miami president Judge Cole Cartledge. 

Blackboard Inc.'s Anthony McKenna joins AU vice president Dave Swartz and George Washington University senior associate dean and chief academic technology officer P.B. Garrett. 

Chevron's Shawn Rusterholz and Ben Priddy and his wife, Alena Priddy.
