Alvin Ailey!
Last night we headed to the Kennedy Center Opera House for the 18th annual Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater opening night gala benefit.
We snapped gala co-chair, AT&T's Lyndon Boozer, with Rep. Gregory Meeks, Charter Communication's Waldo McMillan and Rep. Hakeem Jeffries.
Attendees enjoyed an amazing show with a variety of modern dance selections, ending with Ailey's masterpiece, "Revelations." Here, T-Mobile's Marie Sylla-Dixon joins new White House staffer and onetime "The Apprentice" contestant Omarosa Manigault and former Obama staffer Todd Valentine.
Following the performance, we headed upstairs to the Nations Gallery for the dinner and gala. Here, Walton Isaacson's Ayiko Broyard joins Sen. Chris Van Hollen's staffer Yvette Lewis with Walton Isaacson founder Aaron Walton, Rep. Mark Takano and Toyota's Ed Lewis.
As of last night, the gala had already raised more than $1M to benefit Alvin Ailey dance programs and students from the District. Here, gala co-chair Gina Adams with Alvin Ailey artistic director Robert Battle.
Guests enjoyed a three-course dinner featuring a roasted beet salad and braised short rib. Here, NSO chairman Jeanne Ruesch joins landscape architect Richard Arentz during the gala.
KRA's Knowlton Atterbeary and USDA's Stephen Whatley surround DC Mayor Muriel Bowser.
The Washington Post's Jonathan Capehart and his husband, the State Department's Nick Schmit, join Helena and Rob Dyer.
