We went to the Motion Picture Association of America for an advanced screening of the new film The Grand Seduction. We snapped the hosts, MPAA head Senator Chris Dodd, Embassy of Canada’s Katherine Baird, and MPAA-Canada’s Wendy Noss, surrounding Entertainment One’s Mark Slone.

The film is the story of a small Canadian town that needs jobs, a plant that won’t locate there unless it has a doctor, and an unemployed fisherman who mobilizes everyone in town to convince a fast living doctor that their sleepy harbour is made for him. Here, Global Intellectual Property Center’s Sonia Cullen and Frank Cullen with MPAA’s Howard Gantman.

After the screening, a forum discussed the beneficial relationship between the US and Canadian film industries. Here, Int'l Food Council Foundation’s John Gardner and Kimberly Reed and Embassy of Canada’s Niall Cronin. The film opens May 30.
