Cher!
We joined a sold-out and very enthusiastic crowd at the Verizon Center for Cher’s over-the-top show.

We snapped the super star who sang Woman’s World, Gypsies Tramps & Thieves, Bang Bang, and If I Could Turn Back Time. Between each number, as she changed costumes, there were choreographed dances, including one from a trapeze that was very Cirque du Soleil. Everyone was thinking: How does she look THAT GOOD at her age!?!

Our fun group: DTZ’s Cathy Jones, the host Washington Workplace’s Christine Miller Langemak, Interior Architects’ Holly Briggs, Cohn Reznick’s Rhea Voloshen, AT&T's Liz O'Keefe, SAIC's Allison Patrick, and Ezra Co’s Sue Stoudt. The concert began with a rousing opening act by Pat Benatar, another ageless performer, celebrating 35 years as a star.

There was a video homage to Sonny Bono and to the happy times of the Sonny & Cher show, and then she sang I’ve Got You, Babe in front of a giant screen of Sonny’s face.

Each musical number was more grand and fantastical than the one before, with extravagant costumes, sets, and dance numbers. In this Greek theme, she came out of a Trojan horse. She chatted happily, seemingly impromptu, saying she drinks White Trash Spritzer (Dr Pepper and sparkling water) and “Gaga never talks to you like I do.”
