Bayou Gras!

Last night, for Fat Tuesday, we headed to the 3rd annual Bayou Gras block party to celebrate Mardi Gras at Bayou Bakery.

We snapped Bayou Bakery chef David Guas, who brought the Big Easy to Arlington with music, food, and street-style drinks from his hometown of New Orleans. He's with his son Kemp; they're surrounded by Simoneink’s Caroline Friou, Meaghan Donohoe, and Meg Malloy.

The party extended outside the bakery to a block-long heated tent, where we drank krewe de brewe, including Louisiana Abita beer, bourbon-spiked gator-aid, and parade punch with white rum. Here, Permuta Technologies’ John Cirujales, Simoneink prez Simone Rathle, ragin’ cajun Ainsley Daigle, and Simply Wireless’ Erine Canlas.

The krewe de roux included muff-a-lotta, seafood jambalaya, gumbo, crawfish mac-n-cheese, and of course, king cake. Here, consultant Rich Karam, make-up artist Stephanie Rushworth, DOD’s Hatcher Tynes, and FBI’s Gary Rushworth.

Guests chanted a famous New Orleans saying, Laissez les bon temps rouler which, in case you forgot your high school French, means "Let the good times roll." Here, Buddy Sentner, Cajun Queen Gifts’ Jody Boudreaux, and 94.7 Fresh’s Leslie Holschen.
