Election Law Ramp-Up

In the run-up to a hot midterm and then presidential election, it's not a bad idea to bulk up your election law team. Jones Day just picked up three partners from Patton Boggs, who started yesterday.

Here are Jones Day's new partners: Donald McGahn, Benjamin Ginsberg, and William McGinley. The firm wasted no time in introducing them to the lovely view from the terrace (surely a familiar sight for government regulation lawyers), where they're snapped with government regulation practice head Noel Francisco, second from right. The laterals have high-profile backgrounds in the area: Don is former chairman of the FEC. Ben, who headed Patton Boggs' practice, was national counsel to Bush 43's '00 and '04 presidential campaigns. Bill was National Republican Senatorial Committee GC and has represented Congressmembers including Rep. Michael Grimm and Rep. Michele Bachmann. Meanwhile, Patton Boggs and Squire Sanders officially announced on Sunday that they completed their merger into Squire Patton Boggs.
