In honor of TechTober (yup, now there’s a whole month in Virginia dedicated to technology), Va. Gov. Terry McAuliffee visited Arlington Friday to check out some of the region’s companies. With Secretary of Technology Karen Jackson by his side, the governor met specifically with TandemNSI and the companies working with the organization. (TandemNSI connects startups with national security opportunities within the government.) After tech demos, the group had a roundtable discussion with TandemNSI director Jonathan Aberman and several companies. By the end, the governor left with a to-do list that included looking into whether the state could be a “beta customer” for TandemNSI startups; is the state sufficiently focused on startups; and how to prepare children for this “new paradigm” economy.
