MRP Realty has landed one of the top office brokers in the D.C. region to help manage its portfolio.

The D.C.-based real estate firm announced Wednesday it hired Spencer Stouffer, who has worked in office leasing for more than 30 years and won the industry's most prestigious awards.

Stouffer most recently worked for Carr Properties, but he left the development firm earlier this year to spend time with his family during the coronavirus pandemic, according to an MRP spokesperson.

Prior to joining Carr, he spent more than a decade with Cushman & Wakefield starting in 2007. Before that, he worked for Trammell Crow for 14 years.

Stouffer joins MRP as a senior managing director, and he will help lead the office leasing and tenant services platforms for the developer. MRP owns and manages more than two dozen office buildings in the D.C. region.

“Spencer brings a combination of robust and finely honed skills in leasing alongside deep relationships across capital, tenants, and tenant brokers that will serve our clients well,” MRP Managing Principal Bob Murphy said in a release.

Stouffer has closed more than 14M SF of office leases in his career. He won CREBA's Brendan McCarthy Memorial Award in 2016, and he has won its award for the top producing Northern Virginia broker five times. He serves on the board of the James Madison University Foundation and the NAIOP Executive Committee.

"MRP's culture, depth of resources, and brand are blue-chip in every respect, and I am fortunate to be part of it going forward,” Stouffer said. “Negotiating transactions at the highest levels over the last many years, I have seen the commoditization of brokerage and I look forward to having the opportunity to enable MRP’s clients to receive an even more advanced level of service.”
