After buying a Tysons office building in 2015, losing its anchor tenant and renovating the property, Rubenstein Partners has now fully leased it back up.

Rubenstein, along with partner Griffith Properties, announced Friday it signed a full-building, 150K SF lease at Centerstone at Tysons, a six-story office building at 1550 Westbranch Drive.

The owners declined to name the tenant, but the Washington Business Journal reports the lease is with Freddie Mac. The mortgage finance company already owns two Tysons office buildings that total over 800K SF, and it remains unclear if the deal represents an expansion of its Tysons footprint or a relocation of existing offices.

Philadelphia-based Rubenstein and Boston-based Griffith bought the property for $28M in 2015 as its anchor tenant, The Mitre Corp., was preparing to move out the following year. The new owners then launched a renovation that included an upgraded lobby and new conference center, fitness and food service amenities. The building sits a half-mile north of the Tysons Galleria mall.

"What we created at Centerstone at Tysons is the kind of differentiated workplace experience modern tenants are seeking," Rubenstein Senior Vice President Read Mortimer said in a release.
