Hoffman Madison Waterfront, the developer creating the $2B project on DC's southwest waterfront, leased the second and third floors of its 800 Maine building to the DC-based co-working company.

The 11-floor, 220k SF office building, at the corner of 9th Street and Maine Avenue SW, is slated to deliver in Q3 2017.  The building offers views of the Capitol Building and the Washington Channel and has two tenants signed already—the American Psychiatric Association and bipartisan lobbying firm Van Scoyoc Associates.

The 24-acre waterfront development stretches across nearly a mile of the Potomac River and is adjacent to the National Mall.

“We are elated that MakeOffices is coming to The Wharf—vital to the entire Washington office environment as it continues to expand across new business models with a broad range of flexible spaces," PN Hoffman founder and CEO Monty Hoffman said in a release. "MakeOffices is paramount to the proliferating new economies in the District of Columbia and it is thrilling that the company has chosen The Wharf for its expansion.”

MakeOffices, which opened its flagship Clarendon location two weeks ago, has 10 operating co-working spaces and seven more in the pipeline.

“The Wharf is invigorating the Washington, DC, waterfront and creating an ideal neighborhood for both the city’s movers and shakers and a new MakeOffices community,” MakeOffices CEO Raymond Rahbar said in the release.
