SALLY WILSON

Washington, D.C. Office

Newmark Grubb Knight Frank tenant rep guru Sally Wilson (left) practiced architecture for 18 years, but in 2003, the Lynchburg, Va.-native was approached by then-CBRE broker Pat Marr with an idea: join his group and cross over to the “dark side,” as she calls it. She made the switch to brokerage, and has since worked on some of DC’s biggest deals, like the USGBC’s HQ at 2001 L and more recently, moves for Arnold & Porter, Miller & Chevalier, and Nixon Peabody. She and Pat moved to Newmark late last year to take advantage of a more nimble platform. All the while, she’s pushed clients to go green (she was the first LEED AP broker at a major company) and keep sustainability in mind. Sally says work/life balance is key, as is continuing to challenge one’s self. She just got back from Park City, snapped here with friend Jennifer Ralph being interviewed by Entertainment Weekly at Sundance.
