Rumors on the Riverfront?

Washington, D.C. Office

There's a bevy of action at Capitol Riverfront, and we've got intriguing news on two tenants looking to make the neighborhood home.

First up: the National Association of Broadcasters (here's CEO Gordon Smith) is looking to buy in the neighborhood. Market sources tell us NAB, which has a 65k SF requirement, is seeking an office condo or even full building rather than lease, and could even be part of constructing a new building on one of the neighborhood's vacant development sites. NAB also owns the 1771 N St property it currently occupies, and has publicly expressed interest in moving to Capitol Riverfront.

Word is that CBS Radio is in negotiations to take 30k SF at 1015 Half St, where the National Labor Relations Board just inked a 143k SF deal. CBS would take part of 1015's ground-floor retail space as well as a spot on the second floor, we're told. We snapped this view of the neighborhood from Northwood Investors' 100 M St back in November.
