The Things You See At Tysons Metro…

Placeholder

The area outside the Tysons Corner Metro station will become just a little more interesting this summer when Cirque du Soleil comes to town.

The Canadian theatrical troupe will move its tent to a property just outside the station by Tysons Galleria, the Washington Post reports. The troupe was a big hit at National Harbor in Prince George’s County where they performed on a site that is currently part of the under-construction MGM resort.

Cirque has signed on for 38 performances of its show “Kurios – Cabinet of Curiosities,” beginning in July with a possible extension for this year and future years on the table. The site of the performances is being positioned as a “town square” by Tysons stakeholders, with hopes to host concerts, events and festivals in the future. It's owned by Lerner Enterprises.

Tysons continues to boom and shows no signs of slowing down. Earlier this month, the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors unanimously approved plans for The Boro, the 4.2M SF megaproject from The Meridian Group. Bisnow is hosting a Tysons Tidal Wave event on March 22. [WaPo]
