Shooshan Co's Clarendon Development to Go Before County Board

Placeholder

The Shooshan Co's mutiphase redevelopment of the Red Top Cab property in the western end of Clarendon will go before the Arlington County Board next week.

The company is proposing to build three residential buildings with 3,400 SF of retail space along Washington Boulevard and 13th Street N. The site houses the communication offices for Red Top Cab, parking lots and two other aging buildings that would be demolished. Red Top plans to move to a new HQ in Arlington. Residential plans call for up to 580 units that could be apartments or condos.

Construction would be completed in two phases, starting at the corner of Washington Boulevard and 13th Street. The second phase, which has no timetable, will replace Red Top Cab's HQ along North Hudson Street. The County Board will consider the development at its meeting on Oct. 20. Shooshan Co founder John Shooshan will undoubtedly discuss this project at our Future of R-B Corridor event next month. [ARL]
