Loudoun Stops Developers From Making Last-Minute Planning Changes

Placeholder

Loudoun County wants more time to review complete development applications and to give the public a chance to see what planners are considering.

To achieve this, the county has said it will delay applications that change after initial board packets go out, Loudoun Now reports.

Members of the county board said revisions are often made and supplements are added as late as the night before a board meeting.

The board did not cite specific examples, but one major project to recently make big changes is One Loudoun. Miller & Smith had originally planned to build an 80k SF sports complex, but as Bisnow reported earlier this month, the developer scrapped that idea from the application. In place of the complex, the developer will create a park-and-ride lot to serve the Silver Line. [LN]
