Silver Line Expansions, Innovation Station And More: Don’t Miss Bisnow’s The Future Of Loudoun County Event on Sept. 29

One major infrastructure project has been on the minds of Loudoun County residents for years: the expansion of the Silver Line. The nearly 11-mile expansion would bring rail service from the Wiehle-Reston East Metro station to Dulles International Airport and through to Ashburn. The project, however, has been delayed for years as the result of several problems including a misaligned track and weak concrete panels.

However, there could now finally be major movement on this much-anticipated project. Recently, Andrew Off, Metro’s vice president of the Rail Operations Control Center and Strategic Transformation, announced that construction of the Silver Line’s second phase could be finished by November, which could mean big things for Loudoun County.

Along with the Silver Line expansion, the area is experiencing a boom of new data centers and master-planned communities, and the 2019 Comprehensive Plan is continuing to impact Loudoun County’s development pipeline.

What does all this mean for Loudoun County? How have the delays in the Silver Line expansion impacted the area, and what could the eventual completion of the project mean? What lies ahead for the county’s housing and data center markets? What asset classes are hot right now in the area?

Find out the answers to these questions and more at Bisnow’s virtual event, The Future of Loudoun County on Sept. 29. Hear from local commercial real estate leaders including Susan Bourgeois, senior director at Rappaport, Stephanie Pankiewicz, partner and landscape architect at LandDesign, and Kevin Reynolds, executive vice president at United Bank.
