Billionaire Philanthropist Opening New Museum Near White House

Placeholder

Billionaire philanthropist Mike Milken is once again putting his money where his mouth is: his foundation is planning a new museum in DC, steps from the White House. The Milken Family Foundation received concept approval Thursday to build the Museum of the American Educator at 1503-1505 Pennsylvania Ave in the 38k SF Riggs Bank Corcoran building. The foundation bought the building last May from PNC Bank, which closed its branch there in 2010, according to the Washington Business Journal. When we snapped Mike, center, last fall after remarks to the Washington Economic Club, he was fresh off a $50M donation to George Washington University's public health programs. The foundation he runs with his brother, Lowell, focuses on education. [WBJ]
