Update: Alexandria's Day of Online Giving

Earlier this week, we told you about Alexandria’s Spring2ACTion annual online giving day, held yesterday. Planners had a goal of raising $1M in one 24-hour period. The day ended up generating nearly $1.3M for 129 Alexandria-focused nonprofits. (Pictured is an offline event at Shoe Hive that benefited the Center for Alexandria's Children.) Over 9,400 people donated, up from the 7,500 who participated last year. Each nonprofit raised an average of nearly $10k. Casa Chirilagua was one of three top prize winners, raising a little over $70k, along with Maury Elementary PTA and Arts on the Horizon.
