Big Night For CBRE at REX Awards

Last night,NAIOP doled out honours for excellence in CRE, aka theRex Awards, at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre. CBRE lead the pack with four awards: Broker of record for Investment Deal of the Year ($1.7B sale of Scotia Plaza; above left) and Industrial Development Deal of the Year (Millcreek Business Park in Mississauga, pre-leased by Stanley Black & Decker), Developing Leader of the Year award to Matthew Brown; and the Community Service Award to Margot Friedman.

Last nights big winners also included 1919 Minnesota Court in the Office Development of the Year category, which we wrote about the other day. Avison Youngs Mississauga office (which brokered DuPont Canada as the main tenant) managing director Martin Dockrill: The project allows DuPont to have a high-profile location for their brand in the Mississauga market. The Lowes Distribution Centre scored in the Industrial Lease of the Year category; Bay Adelaide Centre, East Tower, won in the Office Lease of the Year category; and Cadillac Fairview/TD Centres Sustainability 360 took home the Green Award of the Year.
