National Landing is a high-profile area bursting with mixed-use developments near Washington, D.C., that may be best known as the home of Amazon’s new second headquarters. But the dynamic area also is home to more than 26,000 residents, nearly 12M SF of office space and thousands of hotel rooms, restaurants and shops.

There is a lot going on in this Northern Virginia economic dynamo, and Bisnow is sponsoring an event on March 22 that will explore the state of commercial real estate there, National Landing Boom: NOVA’s Newest Live, Work, Play Destination. The live event is sponsored by United Bank.

In addition to discussing Amazon HQ2, whose first phase is expected to be completed in 2023, attendees will delve into issues ranging from the return to office in National Landing and elsewhere in NOVA to the need for more residential housing in the area. National Landing’s numerous amenities — such as 5G infrastructure, transit availability and walkability — as well as challenges including a need for more affordable housing, will also be discussed.

Scheduled speakers will include:

  • Mike Proctor, United Bank market president.

  • Liza Morris, assistant vice president of planning at Virginia Tech.

  • Josh White, vice president at LCOR.

  • Andy Cretal, senior vice president for ZOM Living.

  • Geoffrey Glazer, senior vice president for Kimco.

  • Calvin Gladney, SmartGrowth America CEO.

This will be a live event. Bisnow is committed to following safe protocols, including the wearing of face masks by all attendees and participants, socially distanced seating and enhanced sanitation practices.
