When it comes to the continued growth of the technology sector, Seattle is keeping pace with LA and San Francisco, says DCI Engineers principal and co-president Roger Heeringa, who oversees the firm’s West Coast work. Silicon Valley isn’t the only place the tech sector is revving on all cylinders—tech-centric markets up and down the West Coast are thriving, including Bellevue, Austin and even Portland. Roger sees enough diversity in the industry to keep everybody busy, hiring and happy. But is this rampant growth a bubble at risk of bursting? Roger doesn’t think so, though he says that the hangover of the Great Recession has made everyone a bit more sober and cautious about the idea of a party that never ends.
