Batson-Cook Construction at 100

Batson-Cook Construction Co is celebrating its 100th anniversary, but it's hardly looking back and reminiscing. President and CEO Randy Hall tells us that it’s scaling the heights with its Skyhouse multifamily program for the Novare Group: 17 towers valuing over $990M, located in Atlanta, Charlotte, Raleigh, Tampa, Dallas, Houston and several other major cities. The towers are being built with LEAN philosophy, the delivery system that focuses on continuous process improvement and increased efficiency. This method, which is becoming popular in all aspects of construction management, allows subcontractors, who are used to simply taking directions, to participate in the overall process of efficiency and increased communication. The industry is watching to see (and learn) how LEAN can effectively play a part in the construction of these towers. We’ll keep you posted.
